Steering wheel based C64 release by Technische Maschinenfabrik

---

Checking our messages we came across one by Genesis Project wondering how we missed their latest trainered C64 game ' Speeding on the A 81 ', which only just recently was released by Technische Maschinenfabrik. Well for two simple reasons, one being extra busy and two I thought it was an educational game. Yet how wrong I was as this game is nothing to do with education, as it is in fact a high score top down speeder, in which you need to miss all the other cars and gain the highest score possible on the A81.

Sure the graphics are simplistic, the idea behind the game isn't that glandular and simply touching another car just gets you beeped at, but this game has something that I believe no other racer does on the C64. It can be played with not only Joysticks, but paddles and old PC steering wheels! Yet if that wasn't enough, DATA-LAND has mentioned to the C64 crowd of a wheel adapter called the "Jocopod", which according to them is a fine and universal "Plug & Play" solution.

You can use it for "Speeding On The A 81", but also for old games like "Le Mans" and "Night Driver". A special innovation of the Jocopod technology is the "digital mode" for games, which has only a joystick support! So if you want to play a simplistic racing game, but with a unique addition, then give Speeding on the A81 a go, you might enjoy it!

The Technische Maschinenfabrik is proud to present

Speeding On The A 81

Welcome to this 1-player highway racer with 24 classical car models!

But we've got another good news for you! Yes - you see right! Our new game can be played with joysticks, paddles and used PC steering wheels (old generation with game port connector)! Smile

Many sceners and i always wished to use steering wheels on the C 64. So we're very happy to find 5 hardware experts to develop an interface. In about 4 months we must solved lots of problems and we've got 2 primary objectives: The users shouldn't modify the wheels and it must be 100% compatible to existing software with paddle support. Now we're very proud of our competent hardware team for constructing the wheel adapter "Jocopod"! This is a fine and universal "Plug & Play" solution. You can use it for "Speeding On The A 81", but also for old games like "Le Mans" and "Night Driver". A special innovation of the Jocopod technology is the "digital mode" for games, which has only a joystick support. The firmware of the Jocopod can be upgraded.
